Hello George,
I am a researcher from KU Leuven, Belgium, and have been giving your toolbox a run and it has been interesting so far. I ran your examples by following the tutorial and it ran very smooth. When testing with one of my own models, however, an irreversible error is obtained.
With my model, your toolbox works perfectly until "write to input" which generates the "Job2_A2M". Next, when I press the "Generate post-processing script" button, the following error crops up.
I think the core of the problem is caused by "Index exceeds matrix dimensions", which leads to further errors. Would be extremely grateful of you to let me know why this is occuring. How do you think this can be bypassed?
Best regards,
Sabyasachi
From the statements on your MATLAB command window it seems that the Abaqus analysis is not completed successfully and therefore Abaqus2Matlab cannot obtain any results. You have to check your Abaqus input file first, and ensure that it runs properly in Abaqus before editing it with the Abaqus2Matlab GUI.
You can send me the various files at gpapazafeiropoulos@yahoo.gr if you want.
Dear Zach,
Thank you for your interest in Abaqus2Matlab.
From what I can see from your image, the installation of Abaqus2Matlab on your PC is ok. From the error statements I suppose the reason for the error is that you have not written any result requests in the Abaqus input file through the Abaqus2Mtlab GUI before generating the postprocessing script. What happens if you try to write something to the Abaqus input file and then generate the post-processing script?
Best,
George
Hi George,
I am having a similar error with generating the post script however I believe the root cause is different. After I load my input file and try to generate the post-processing script I get an error in the command window along with a "please wait" progress bar that appears and freezes. I did not add anything to the input file I am working with through your GUI. I have tried using both my own and your example input files and the same error occurs. I downloaded your toolbox version 2.00 directly from this website and installed using the graphical method as outlined in section 7.1 in your documentation. A screen shot of the error is shown below. I am a graduate student working on a two projects where your toolbox would help immensely. I look forward to hearing back from you.
Sincerely,
Zach
Thanks George for the feedback! I made the specified change and it has generated the Matlab script now :)
I shall give you some feedback in the near future based on my use of your software. Have a good week!

Sabyasachi
Dear Sabyasachi,
I have loaded your input file in Abaqus2Maltab GUI window and I have seen that in line 957 you have specified the following option:
*Node Output
without any data line containing a node output variable identifier. The code reports an error related to "matrix index" because it is looking for the next line (i.e. the data line) in order to know the node output variable identifier (e.g. U, A, etc.). The code related to the post-processing script looks for the output variable defined by the user in order to generate the function to read this variable. The quickest way to solve this problem is to specify any node output variable identifier at this point (for example U) as follows:
*Node Output
U
Please accept my apologies for the delayed answer.
Best,
George
Dear George,
I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Dear George,
Thanks for your message. Sure, here is the link to the input file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/t7kbkck145wq5lj/Job-2.inp?dl=0
I look forward to your feedback.
Best regards,
Sabyasachi
Dear Sabyasachi,
Thank you for your good comments about Abaqus2Matlab. The issue that you describe may be due to a bug in the code. Could you send me a version of the input file that you are trying to postprocess so that I can reproduce the error and fix the issue? Confidentiality in the various files and/or models shared is explicitly declared.
Best,
George
