Abaqus2Matlab v.3.0
A new way to post-process FEA

Dear h.t p.s009,
I got your email. The output that you want to extract from the Abaqus odb file is a surface-type output (it is defined by the *CONTACT OUTPUT option) which Abaqus2Matlab is not yet able to extract (however in its next version it will include the capability of extracting surface-type output from odb files, such as the one that you want).
So, if you want to get the surface contact forces with the current version of Abaqus2Matlab, you can extract the stresses (extrapolated and averaged at the element nodes) of the elements that are part of the surface, and then calculate the contact forces by appropriately integrating these stresses over the surface area. Although this is an indirect way of obtaining the surface forces, common intuition tells us that it should work quite well.
Best regards.
Please ensure that the Abaqus analysis has been successfully completed. Also, pelase check that the Abaqus input file and also the Matlab script for the extraction of the results are correct.
If the problem persists, you can send me the Abaqus input file for checking by email: gpapazafeiropoulos@yahoo.gr
Thank you very much.
Best regards.
Hello,
Please edit the Abaqus input file and specify the following options within the step level:
