I saw how the .fil file was used in the example available, but I don't know to get the maximum Von Mises stress using the .fil file.
I saw that "I 213D" is the record key for element section force output (13). But how can I have access to VM stress? If possible, can you send me a file similar to "Rec13.m" that reads the maximum value of VM stress?

I tried to generate a .fil file in order to get Von Mises stress. However the way I wrote the .inp the .fil file is not been generated. I'll send you the .inp file by mail. And I send attached the image showing what I added to the inp file in order to get the .fil one.
Moreover, I tried to used the command you sent to me "outSINV=readFil('yourFile.fil',12);" using a .fil file. However, I have always the same error. The figure below shows what I get. I downloaded the second version of Abaqus2Matlab as you said.
Can you help me with the .inp file and how to extract Von Mises stress from the .fil file generated?

Dear Rafael, In the documentation of Abaqus2Matlab (available on the website for free) there are verification examples for many results file (*.fil) output variables, including stress invariants, one of which is Mises stress. Please see 12.fil in the "5.3.3. Extracting element type results" section of the Documentation of Abaqus2Matlab. You have to download the second version of Abaqus2Matlab (v.2.0) and install it as an app on your Matlab installation. Detailed instructions for the installation are provided in the Documentation of Abaqus2Matlab v.2.0. Afterwards, you will type at the Matlab command window the following commands:
outSINV=readFil('yourFile.fil',12); MISES=outSINV{1,1}(:,1); maxMISES=max(MISES)
where <yourFile> is the name of your Abaqus input file, and maxMISES is the maximum Mises stress for all integration points of the elements in the mesh and for all the frame history of the Abaqus analysis results. Best regards!
