Hello,
Following my question in my previous introductory post, here is my second question --
2) Is it essential to run the .inp file using Matlab? I am running my simulations on a server, so I prefer to submit the .inp files independently. In that case, is it enough to select the output variables I want in Abaqus2Matlab, modify the original .inp, and then submit this modified .inp file?
Thank you.
It is not necessary to run the Abaqus input file through Matlab. You can run various Abaqus input files independently, provided that you specify in each Abaqus input file the correct output variable identifier(s) that correspond to the results that you want to extract and postprocess in Matlab, before running it. It is better that you edit the various Abaqus input files manually and change the data line(s) under the various results file options, such as the following:
*CONTACT FILE
*EL FILE *ENERGY FILE *MODAL FILE *NODE FILE *SECTION FILE
Best.
