Hello, I am running simulations where I need to extract field outputs from a set consisting of a large number of nodes/elements (around 20-30k), before analysing them in Abaqus. My usual method is to create an XY data set in the .odb, and then export to a .rpt file. However, for such large data sets, Abaqus crashes on the latter step.
While looking for a non-GUI option for extracting data, I discovered Abaqus2Matlab. But before I can use it, I need help with some essential questions. I will ask the first here, and the second in a separate post --
1) I need to transform the data using a user-defined coordinate system (say, CSYS-1, present in the odb file) before I can export it. How do I do this?
Hello Anshuman Pal,
Thank you very much for your consideration.
Transformation of the data using a user-defined coordinate system before exporting them is possible only in Abaqus/Standard. However, you can apply the coordinate system transformation that you want inside Matlab, after extracting the Abaqus results using Abaqus2Matlab.
Best regards!
