Hey Abaqus2Matlab users!
We are excited to announce the release of our new app, mtx2Matlab 3.0, a part of the general postprocessing software Abaqus2Matlab.
mtx2Matlab 3.0 is a new, fast way to extract Abaqus stiffness, mass, damping and load matrices in Matlab for further analyses, such as static or frequency analysis, as well as substructuring and hybrid modeling (i.e. replacing part of Abaqus model with its matrix equivalent).
In the last few months, we have been tirelessly working to improve our product and services and we believe that mtx2Matlab will help you enjoy your experience with Abaqus2Matlab even more.
So what is mtx2Matlab all about?
In various situations, the engineer/researcher/student needs to manipulate the stiffness, mass, viscous damping, structural damping and load matrices of an Abaqus model, including but not limited to the following cases:
1) Carrying out one or more Abaqus FE analysis in Matlab, without using the Abaqus solver, usually when (a) the requested type of analysis is not available in Abaqus, (b) the Abaqus analysis is slow and (c) there are modeling aspects to be accounted for which are not available in Abaqus
2) Performing one or more Abaqus analysis step(s) after direct modification of the Abaqus model in terms of its stiffness, mass, damping and load matrices in customized ways to take into account various modeling aspects
3) Replacing the whole or part of an Abaqus model with its stiffness, mass, damping and/or load matrix equivalents and continuation of the analysis using the Abaqus solver.
